Meet Stephanie – She enjoys entertaining friends and would love to host a small dinner party, but her boyfriend Mike won’t even eat her cooking. Further complicating her dinner party plans is the fact that their friend Michelle has a severe gluten allergy.  Stephanie has no idea how to prepare a gluten free meal. See how The Seasoned Table helped Stephanie and Mike.

Stephanie’s Solution – On Sunday afternoon, Sarah visits Stephanie and Mike to learn more about their dinner party plans.  She asks questions about the guests’ food preferences and learns about Michelle’s gluten allergy.  Stephanie and Mike have also expressed the desire to incorporate organic ingredients and would like wine pairing suggestions to really impress their friends.  Sarah designs a menu for the dinner party, conscious of Michelle’s food allergy and the organic request.  The following weekend, Sarah arrives early to prepare the meal, and Stephanie joins her in the kitchen to learn a bit about food preparation.  That evening, Mike and Stephanie’s friends are wow-ed by the appetizers, impressed by the meal, and are eager for dessert.  They also compliment Mike on his great taste in wine.

MEET KEVIN – The only things in his cabinets are cereal, a box of angel hair pasta and – he’s not sure how that got there – some Fruit-by-the-Foot. His mom would be mortified if she looked in his fridge. His online bank statement is a long list of takeout restaurants, and he knows working out three days per week is no match for Pizza Hut’s wings and Panda Bowl’s tempura shrimp. Hungry, exhausted and out of options, he hits speed dial #6 on his iPhone and orders “the usual” from Totally Thai. By the time it arrives he is so hungry he scarfs it down without tasting it and falls asleep on the couch without going to the gym. He wakes up the next morning with a severe case of indigestion. See how The Seasoned Table helped Kevin.

KEVIN’S SOLUTION – Kevin meets Sarah for a drink and explains that he is trying to eat better and put on some healthy weight.  Based on his limited preferences, Sarah designs a menu for Kevin that is light on the wallet but not on flavor.  Kevin selects a monthly service and schedules his first “cook day” for Wednesday.  On Wednesday while Kevin is at work, Sarah does all of the grocery shopping and arrives at Kevin’s apartment.  Using her own equipment – let’s be honest, Kevin doesn’t even own a baking dish – Sarah prepares perfectly portioned meals for this hungry bachelor and packages them in recyclable, clearly-labeled containers that include heating instructions.  When Kevin arrives home late that night, he goes straight to the refrigerator for his fresh, delicious meal instead of to the cupboard for a package of ramen.  Thrilled to hear that her son is finally keeping a health diet, Kevin’s mom buys him a gift certificate for the next month of meals from The Seasoned Table.

MEET JACKIE – She has worked over forty hours this week and has spent too much money on quick, not-so-healthy lunches from restaurants whose names she has already forgotten. She recently joined Weight Watchers with a few coworkers and counts calories obsessively, but by the time dinner comes around there aren’t many “points” left for a good meal. After work Jackie picks up her baby from day care and rushes to pick up a pizza for her four-year-old and husband, who are picky eaters. She wishes there was something more nutritious they could enjoy together, but she knows she’ll be feeding the baby from a jar and munching on whatever’s left in the fridge. It’s already 7:00 p.m. by the time she gets home with the pizza, which has already gone cold.

JACKIE’S SOLUTION – On Saturday, Jackie explains the dietary needs and flavor preferences of her family during a complimentary in-home assessment with Sarah from The Seasoned Table. Together, Jackie and Sarah design a menu that will fit the whole family, complete with seasonal ingredients and fresh, local produce.  They also discuss the baby’s development stage and decide on the right foods, herbs and mild spices to incorporate into the baby’s food.  Jackie selects a weekly service and schedules her first “cook day” for Monday.  On Monday, while Jackie is at work, Sarah does all of the grocery shopping and arrives at Jackie’s home.  Using her own equipment, Sarah prepares perfectly portioned meals for the family, packaging them in recyclable, clearly-labeled containers that include heating instructions. When Jackie comes home she is greeted by the wonderful aromas of home cooked food and an immaculate kitchen.
